Polly’s Textiles – Beautifully Purposeful…
About Polly
My aim is to design and create visually interesting and functional products within a textile home furnishing range, amalgamating colour with print and embroidery. Polly Wade – 2009
Polly’s passion for arts and crafts began as a child when she would experiment with the classic ‘Get Set!’ children’s design box sets. Her desire to explore the artistic world grew when she attended Lowestoft college, where she graduated with a BA in Design Crafts.
Her main influences throughout this time were the natural and botanical world, mixed together with her love for the design eras of the 50’s and 60’s. Her passion for drawing and her ability as a self taught photographer has lead to a range of textiles which involve a clean linear style using bright vibrant colours and soft muted tones. Overall these products display a simple consistent layout yet apply a range of intricately layered designs and techniques.
Polly’s ambitions for the future include developing a wider home based product range, to introduce these ranges to a wider variety of shops and stores across Suffolk. She also wishes to build her portfolio by offering a commission service to people passionate for individual and unique designs. Being a keen “Green” she endeavours to introduce ethical and fairtrade materials, together with the promotion of the fairtrade world and contemporary crafts.
